Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Dawn, and I'm excited to meet you. Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, depression, family stress, relationship difficulties, or painful experiences leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure where to turn next. You may be trying to balance the needs of everyone around you while struggling to care for yourself. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress, panic disorders, anger management concerns, infertility, chronic illness, women's issues, family conflict, and relationship challenges. My background in children and family services and my training in infant and early childhood mental health allow me to support individuals and families through life's many transitions. My goal is to provide a compassionate space where you feel safe, heard, and supported while we work together to better understand your experiences and create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel warm, accepting, and tailored to your unique needs. My approach is collaborative and nonjudgmental, meeting you where you are and helping you move forward at a pace that feels right for you. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment-Based Therapy, Relational Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Psychoanalytic approaches to help clients better understand themselves and build healthier patterns. Together, we may explore past experiences, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional regulation, address relationship concerns, process trauma, and develop tools for managing stress, panic, grief, and life transitions. I believe healing happens when people feel understood, empowered, and supported in showing up as their whole selves.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a warm, humorous, and welcoming environment where you are free to show up exactly as you are. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing openly without fear of judgment. During our first session, we'll get to know one another, discuss confidentiality and your rights, and explore what has brought you to therapy and what changes you hope to make. Together, we'll create a plan tailored specifically to your goals and needs. As we work together, my hope is that you'll experience greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, improved emotional balance, and increased confidence in managing life's challenges. You don't have to navigate everything alone, and meaningful change is possible.
