Great to meet you!

You may look like you’re functioning on the outside while your body and mind are constantly on alert underneath. Panic can hit without warning, a painful experience may still affect how safe you feel, or anxiety and depression can make everyday responsibilities feel exhausting, especially when you’re also managing a chronic health condition. I specialize in helping people whose past experiences continue to show up in their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and physical reactions. My goal is to create a calm, supportive space where you can finally feel heard and begin moving beyond survival mode.

My approach to therapy

We’ll work on both the symptoms disrupting your life today and the experiences underneath them. That might mean learning how to calm your body during panic, challenging the thoughts that keep anxiety or depression going, or working through a traumatic memory that still causes you to shut down, avoid certain situations, or feel constantly on edge. When appropriate, we can use EMDR to help painful experiences feel less emotionally overwhelming rather than requiring you to repeatedly relive every detail. The goal is for the past to have less control over how you feel and respond in the present.

What you can expect from me

It’s completely normal to feel anxious about your first session, especially if talking about what you’ve experienced feels difficult. We’ll start with what has been happening lately, whether that’s panic attacks, sleepless nights, feeling numb or depressed, constantly expecting something bad to happen, or struggling with the emotional toll of a chronic condition. You won’t be expected to immediately dive into your most painful memories or share anything you aren’t ready to discuss. Our first conversation is about helping you feel comfortable, understanding what you want to change, and deciding together where it makes sense to begin.
