Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), I bring over 25 years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, serving adults, adolescents, and families from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My academic foundation includes a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and an Educational Specialist degree in Counseling Supervision. In addition to my clinical work, I’ve spent the past 15 years teaching psychology and human development at the college level, which deepens my understanding of the human experience and enhances my therapeutic approach.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Clients should know that I offer a warm, nonjudgmental, and supportive space where we work collaboratively to address challenges and identify strengths. I use an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, person-centered, and trauma-informed practices to best meet each client’s unique needs and goals. My experience includes treating depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, grief, and substance use disorders.

What you can expect from our first session

As a Southern African American woman, I understand the importance of cultural context and strive to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. Whether you're navigating a mental health diagnosis or simply need support through a difficult season, you can expect to leave each session with greater clarity, practical tools, and a renewed sense of empowerment for your journey ahead.
