I’m Deandra Sanders, MA, a culturally aware therapist who works with teens and adults navigating trauma, identity formation, and challenging relationship dynamics. My approach is person-centered at its core, integrating psychodynamic, DBT, and other evidence-based modalities to support each client’s unique journey.
I help clients unpack patterns, explore defense mechanisms, and step into the fullest version of themselves. I especially enjoy working with individuals who feel they don’t fit into a box or who have had negative therapy experiences in the past.
We’ll begin by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your background, experiences, and the patterns that have shaped your life. This isn’t an interrogation — it’s a collaborative conversation where you set the pace and share only what feels right in the moment.
I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you might have about therapy, and together we’ll identify your goals. My approach blends person-centered warmth, psychodynamic insight, and holistic perspectives, so you can expect a balance of deep listening, gentle exploration, and a sense of structure.
