Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m DeAngelo Briggs M.Ed., LPC with over 6 years of experience helping individuals overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related disorders. Grounded in evidence-based practices, I specialize in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to empower clients to recognize and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build lasting emotional resilience.

With a compassionate, collaborative approach, I work with adolescents and adults to address a wide range of mental health challenges. I’m dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences and work toward meaningful, goal-oriented change.

I’ve had advanced training in trauma-informed care, mindfulness, Anxiety Coping Skills, and Stress Reduction. In addition to clinical work, I’m passionate about mental health education and regularly attend workshops, conferences, and contributes to community wellness initiatives.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is structured, goal-oriented, and focused on the present. It is based on the principle that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by changing negative patterns of thinking and behavior, we can improve how we feel.

What you can expect from me

Clients attending their first session with a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) can expect a structured yet collaborative experience focused on understanding their concerns and beginning to build a therapeutic plan. The session would be as follows:

· Introduction and Rapport Building

· Assessment of Presenting Issues

· Discussion of CBT and how it works

· Goal Setting

· Next steps/ Homework

· Logistics and Planning
