Professional Credentials

My name is Deanna Markesteyn, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCCS). My clinical background is grounded in extensive training and certification within the field of trauma-informed counseling. This expertise allows me to provide specialized support to individuals who are navigating trauma and related challenges.

Educational Background

I earned my Master’s Degree from Slippery Rock University, with a focus on Substance Use Disorders. This area of specialization has given me a strong and comprehensive foundation in understanding and addressing substance use issues. I integrate this knowledge into my therapeutic work, helping clients address and overcome these challenges in a supportive and informed environment.

My approach to therapy

Experience in the Healing Arts

Since 1990, I have been devoted to the healing arts. My longstanding dedication and diverse professional background enrich my ability to support individuals as they pursue recovery and personal growth. My decades of experience allow me to draw on a wide range of skills to help clients on their journeys.

Therapeutic Philosophy

My approach to therapy is rooted in a whole-person perspective. Drawing from my varied training and experiences, I focus on addressing the unhealthy symptoms clients may be experiencing today, including chronic pain, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and loss. I encourage clients to be kind to themselves and to seek support when needed. Through gentle guidance, I empower clients to determine their own goals and select the therapeutic tools that work best for them. My aim is to help each individual achieve a sense of balance and peace in their lives.

What you can expect from me

In our first counseling session, we will take the time to get to know each other, and you will have the opportunity to share your story. Together, we will identify the changes you wish to make in your life and develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. Every three months, we will review this plan to ensure that we are making progress and staying on the right track. After each counseling session, you will leave with renewed hope and practical tools to help you reach your best self.
