Great to meet you!

I am a compassionate and caring therapist with more than 40 years of experience supporting individuals and families through many of life’s challenges. I have been practicing social work since 1977 and earned my Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. Over the years, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in community settings, schools, businesses, private practice, and geriatric care. I specialize in helping with stress and anxiety, depression and mood concerns, family and relationship issues, substance use and recovery, and the everyday life challenges that can feel overwhelming. My goal is to provide counseling that is ethical, supportive, and grounded in understanding, so you feel cared for and better equipped to move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and personalized to your needs. I believe counseling should provide not only support, but also insight, education, and tools you can use in everyday life. I draw from evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, internal family systems, family therapy, and behavioral approaches to help clients better understand themselves and make meaningful changes. Whether we are working through anxiety, depression, family conflict, addiction, trauma, stress, or mood-related concerns, I focus on meeting you where you are and helping you build on your strengths.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where we can begin getting to know each other. I will take time to understand what is bringing you to therapy, what challenges you are facing, and what goals you hope to work toward. We will talk about your current concerns, relevant history, and the strengths you already bring with you. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful, with a clearer sense of how we can work together.
