Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! I'm Debbie, a compassionate therapist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, anger management, behavioral issues, coping skills, divorce, emotional disturbance, grief, OCD, oppositional defiance (ODD), relationship issues, school issues, self-esteem struggles, stress, veterans' concerns, and women's issues.

I specialize in working with individuals and families navigating overwhelming emotions and life transitions. If things feel heavy, confusing, or hard to put into words, you're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out on your own. As an elementary school counselor, I help clients navigate social, emotional, and behavioral challenges while building confidence and resilience in a safe, supportive space. I also have experience supporting military-connected families and veterans.

My approach to therapy

I take a warm, client-centered approach, creating a safe space where clients feel supported and understood. I tailor each session to meet individual needs, focusing on strengths and practical growth. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, and play-based interventions for children.

My approach is supportive and structured, helping clients feel confident, understood, and equipped to move forward. I focus on anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and life transitions, helping clients build skills that lead to lasting change. My goal is to help you develop practical tools, strengthen relationships, and feel empowered to grow and thrive.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, you can expect a warm, relaxed environment where you feel safe and supported. I focus on getting to know you, your concerns, your strengths, and what brings you to therapy, at a pace that feels comfortable.

We will begin identifying goals together and discuss what you hope to gain from our work. You can also expect clear communication about the process and a collaborative approach moving forward. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the next steps.

My style is understanding, kind, patient, warm, solution-oriented, and energetic. I believe in meeting you where you are and helping you build the skills and confidence you need to move forward. Reaching out for support can feel difficult, especially when you're carrying so much on your own. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start, you're not alone. There is support available, and change is possible. When you're ready, I'm here to walk alongside you at your pace.
