Great to meet you!

I earned my Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2003. I had the privilege of starting in the field of sexual abuse/violence, which began my real-life education. I've continued my study of trauma, and in family dynamics. This continues to shape my growth. I have years of experience working in psychiatric hospitals with those struggling with severe mental illness. The one thing that I've learned and want to share is this: people can (and do!) get better.

My approach to therapy

My psychotherapy approach is eclectic. All modalities are based on research and are considered best practice for therapy. These techniques may be based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I have studied Psychodrama for 3 years. I utilize a Trauma Informed Care perspective. In other words, I'm happy to share my tools with you, in a manner that goes at your pace and is meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

I think therapy is most helpful when it is transparent and there is an alliance formed, a team of 2. Therapy can only be useful if you feel seen and heard. I consider it my job is to hold space for you to do just that! I believe you already have everything you need within you to heal. My job is to help you connect to the strengths you already have and to connect the dots in your life that help provide present day clarity so you can be your very best you! You deserve it as much as anyone else!
