Great to meet you!

I have worked as a counselor for more than 20 years and my clients say that they see improvement in their thinking process as I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT). My clients also report that they feel very relaxed and accepted in the sessions. My approach is unconditional positive regard for my patients and as a solution focused practitioner with the ability to work with you to develop options that empower you in your journey.

My approach to therapy

I am an eclectic in my approach to assist the client to find the appropriate therapeutic style which meets their needs. Each patient is unique and their treatment plan should provide a variety of therapeutic options. Typically, I work from a CBT , DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Solution Focused Therapy, and motivational interviews to build a foundation for change. I started my career as an Elementary teacher and have taught 4k-12 and special education and gifted education to a corporate training and development manager for Marriott Corporation. I have a Bachelor degree from Cedarville University and then went to several Graduate Schools and finished at Fort Valley State University in Counseling. I completed a specialist degree at University of North Carolina of Greensboro, then finished my doctorate at Argosy University of Atlanta Georgia. I am a lifetime learner so I continue to work at improving my therapeutic skills.

What you can expect from me

I have kind of a strange sense of humor so often my clients and I get to laughing at the situations as we look for options to make a plan for better mental health. I’m a counselor that wants you to find your way to positive life with good coping skills.
