Great to meet you!

My name is Deb Jockin, DSW, LCSW. I am a mental health therapist treating adolescents, adults, couples, and families for 25 years. I have a BA in psychology from Allegheny College, an MSW in clinical social work from the University of Pittsburgh, and a doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. I specialize in treatment of affective disorders, anxiety, behavioral problems, relationship conflicts, marital, grief, trauma, self-injury, and attachment disorders.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is client-centered, goal-oriented, and collaborative fostering an alliance of unconditional positive regard. My interventions consist of psychotherapy integration using principles primarily from cognitive, behavioral, dialectical, systemic, psychodynamic, and mindfulness approaches. Psychoeducation and skills acquisition are presented with all interventions with consistent focus on my clients' goals.

What you can expect from me

Treatment goals are formulated at the start of therapy and ongoing with my client as the author of their objectives. Goals are measured behaviorally and subjectively, based on treatment plan scales for rating and verbal report. Activities in between sessions are given to reinforce treatment techniques such as cognitive, behavioral, and relational skills. Client feedback and input is encouraged.
