Deborah McColl graduated Antioch University's Masters program w a degree in Clinical Psychology in 1990. She began private practice in 1992 in South Pasadena as well as the director of the counseling program at Verdugo Mental Health and supervising hundreds of interns over the years between 1990 and 2011. She has a background in Zen, and has studied neurology and evolutionary psychology.

What study after study shows is that it is the person of the therapist and the connection established with her clients that drives successful outcomes and not the method or theory used.
