Great to meet you!

Originally from Illinois, I lived in the Denver, CO for many years and raised my son here. After attaining my doctorate in psychology, I worked in private practice and academic settings, before taking a job in Canada as a psychology professor. After spending 14 years in Canada, I retired from the college, sold my home to a professional hockey player, and returned to Denver to be nearer my son and to return to private practice.

My approach to therapy

I am an experienced psychologist who employs a very collaborative approach with clients. Trained in an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral approach, I will assist you in challenging thoughts that may be increasing anxiety and mood fluctuations. In addition, stress reduction strategies and new behaviors may be practiced to further encourage further therapeutic gains.

What you can expect from me

You will leave a session with new ways to think about your situation, as well as some specific goals and behaviors to practice. If you have experienced trauma, specific triggers may be assessed and procedures may be suggested to reduce the impact these triggers have in your life. Goals to reduce substance use, improve self-care, and include physical ways to reduce stress may all be recommended as these are relevant.
