Great to meet you!

Ø Have experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and residential treatment with children and adult populations.

Ø I graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Social Work.

Ø I am a Certified Trauma Therapist.

Ø Have certification in DBT and CBT.

Ø I am listed in Several Who’s Who lists

Ø I was drawn to therapy from the age of 4. I would read encyclopedias in my spare time and came to know that I wanted to know what made people tick.

Ø As I grew older, I came to know that people in my world suffered from problems and daily life challenges. I wanted to help them understand more about themselves, and realize that everyone has problems and there are ways to help them feel better.

My approach to therapy

Ø I approach psychotherapy with a strong emphasis on addressing the client's needs.

Ø I view our relationship as a collaborative partnership, where we work together to foster hope and help you become the person you aspire to be.

Ø To facilitate this process, I often ask my clients to share their vision of themselves in the future.

Ø My primary therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eclectic approaches, Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family and Marital therapy, Interpersonal therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma Therapy, and Couples therapy.

Ø I have more of a direct style of communication.

Ø I use a lot of resources, videos, and handouts.

Ø I give progress in treatment as to how we are meeting the desired goals of the patient, and promote feedback from my client on whether they are getting their needs met.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, we will become familiar with each other and get a feeling about if we can work together. I will gather your history and allow you to ask any questions you wish, so you feel comfortable, safe, and informed.
