Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Cassandra Rikard, a licensed professional counselor with a passion for helping individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive. I hold a master’s degree in Educational Psychology and a specialist degree in Counseling and Supervision. Over the years, I’ve served in diverse clinical settings—including as a Clinical Director for a mental health hospital and as the Director for an Intensive Outpatient and PHP Program where I supported adolescents and adults navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges.

My approach is practical, compassionate, and rooted in evidence-based care. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and life transitions. I’m particularly passionate about supporting working parents, caregivers, and individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed or burned out. I also have deep experience working with children, teens, and families—including those involved in foster care and adoption.

As a mother of seven (two biological, three adopted, and two bonus), I understand how life’s challenges intersect with personal identity, parenting, and work. My goal is to offer a safe, supportive space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change—whether in individual therapy or through our workplace mental health services.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and goal-oriented. I primarily draw from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify practical strategies, shift unhelpful thinking patterns, and build on what’s already working in their lives.

In sessions, I focus on helping clients set meaningful goals, recognize their own resilience, and move toward positive change—one step at a time. Whether we’re managing stress, navigating life transitions, or addressing anxiety and depression, I aim to make therapy a supportive and empowering experience where each person feels heard, valued, and capable of growth.

What you can expect from me

Clients often tell me they leave sessions feeling more grounded, hopeful, and equipped with real tools they can use right away. You can expect:

  • Clear goals and practical strategies tailored to your life and challenges
  • Support without judgment, in a space where your story is heard and respected
  • Tools to manage anxiety, stress, and negative thought patterns using CBT techniques
  • Encouragement to focus on strengths and progress, no matter how small
  • A renewed sense of confidence and direction in your personal or professional life

Whether you're facing a tough season, making big life decisions, or just need someone in your corner, we’ll work together to help you move forward with clarity and purpose.
