Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Deena Newman, a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience providing evidence-based therapy to adults, couples, and families. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mood-related concerns. I also have a strong focus on supporting individuals during pregnancy, the postpartum period, and other significant life transitions, offering care that is both compassionate and practical.

My approach to therapy

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from LaSalle University through an APA-accredited program and have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient private practice, hospital-based programs, and community mental health organizations. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with medical providers and multidisciplinary teams, which has deepened my appreciation for whole-person care and the connection between mental and physical health.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, structured, and grounded in evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness- and acceptance-based approaches. I believe therapy works best when it is a partnership—one where we work together to better understand patterns, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe being open and honest about your experiences. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or looking for longer-term support, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and confident as you move forward. If you’re seeking thoughtful, evidence-based care delivered with empathy and respect, I would be honored to work with you.
