I began my mental health career working with adults with severe mental illnesses. I have experience working with adolescents in residential, outpatient and home based settings. I have extensive experience counseling adults in outpatient settings. I have been licensed in the state of Ohio, Michigan and currently in Virginia. My current employment has been focused on helping military children and families cope with their frequent transitions and challenges.
I am a Certified Grief Professional (CGP). I am well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as it is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. Therapy with me is a partnership between the client and therapist. I take the time to build a trusting, mutually respectful client/therapist relationship, which includes a non-judgmental stance. I provide guidance and support for clients to reach their full potential and make their own choices based on their goals and what is best for them.
