Great to meet you!

Hello! Welcome to my practice. I am Dejion Hughes, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to guiding you through life’s most challenging moments. With over five years of specialized experience in trauma work, I have passionately supported children and families as they navigate the complex path toward recovery. I firmly believe that true healing is an active, internal process, and my role is to provide the safe space and tools necessary for you to uncover your own resilience. Together, we will work to empower you from within, transforming obstacles into stepping stones toward a healthier, more fulfilled life.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is interactive, collaborative, and deeply rooted in a client-centered, strengths-based approach. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to partner with you to uncover the inner resilience and tools you already possess. To make therapy engaging and effective, I flexibly integrate evidenced-based modalities like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), traditional CBT, and dedicated grief component therapy. I also love blending traditional talk therapy with creative art therapy techniques to help clients express themselves when words alone aren't enough. Ultimately, I tailor every session to your unique pace and goals, creating a safe, judgment-free space where children, families, and individuals can safely process trauma and achieve meaningful healing.

What you can expect from me

From your very first session, you can expect a warm, supportive environment where you are truly seen and heard. My approach is straightforward and authentic, combining a compassionate listening ear with evidence-based clinical skills to help you feel safe and understood right from the start. We will use this initial time to explore what brings you to therapy, establish mutual trust, and begin identifying the unique strengths you already possess. I view myself as a collaborative guide in the helping process, but you are the ultimate key to your own healing. Our primary goal for session one is to ensure you leave feeling empowered, respected, and equipped with a clear, collaborative roadmap for your therapeutic journey.
