Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Delora

I began my career in 2002 in the Mental Health/Addiction Treatment field. I obtained an Undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2008 from the University of North Texas and obtained my Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor credential in 2009. I obtained a master’s degree in professional counseling in 2011 from Texas Wesleyan University. I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor credential in 2015 and my LPC Supervisor status in 2020. I am a certified Substance Abuse Professional for the Dept. of Transportation since 2019.

Personally, I find joy in the simple moments of life, spending quality time with family and my Maine Coon cat, Pollux. I’m passionate about reading, exploring new destinations through travel, and embracing all things related to 80’s music, from iconic hits to nostalgic playlists. These interests keep me inspired and connected to both my loved ones and the world around me.

My approach to therapy

I believe that people may sometimes need help in many areas of their lives, therefore I treat with a Person-Centered, wholistic approach. With this approach the therapist treats the whole person and is instrumental to the changes of the client but is not directly responsible for any change. The Person-Centered Therapist gently guides clients to break self-imposed barriers that block self-determination and growth. I integrate techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Reality and Solutions Focused Therapies to help clients challenge maladaptive thinking patterns.

What you can expect from me

During our initial session, you can expect to enter a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment. I hope to make you feel comfortable and safe so that you can openly discuss any concerns and you life's experiences. It is my hope to join you as a fellow traveler as you take a journey mental health, physical wellness, spiritual restoration and emotional stability.
