Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! I’m Demetria Harris, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience in education and mental health. My primary focus is helping women, teens, and couples navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and stressful seasons of life. I also work with adults and families who are seeking support, greater clarity, and meaningful change.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, boundaries, and family conflict. You may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling in your relationships, adjusting to a major life change, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what comes next. Therapy can provide a safe space to understand what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and begin moving forward with greater confidence.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I incorporate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and person-centered techniques, to help you challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen coping skills, improve communication and relationships, and develop practical tools for lasting change.

I believe healing begins with hope. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful growth, healthier relationships, greater emotional well-being, and a life that feels more aligned with your values and goals.

It would be an honor to support you as you take the next step toward healing, growth, and positive change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. I utilize evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and mindfulness techniques, to help clients gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to heal, grow, and reach their full potential.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your concerns, review your personal history, and identify your goals for treatment. I'll also answer any questions you have about the therapy process so we can begin building a collaborative plan that supports your healing and growth.
