Great to meet you!

I’m Denetra Taylor, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) with nineteen years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I specialize in anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, behavioral concerns, trauma, relationship challenges, and substance use concerns. I earned my Master of Science in Community Psychology from Martin University and hold a CADAC II credential. I’m passionate about creating a safe, affirming space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported as they work toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, practical, and individualized. I draw from CBT, DBT, trauma-focused approaches, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients better understand their thoughts and emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and navigate stress and life transitions. I meet clients where they are, build on their strengths, and work collaboratively to identify goals that feel meaningful and achievable. I believe therapy should be a safe place to be honest, learn new skills, and grow without judgment.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll listen to your concerns, learn about your goals, and work with you to identify where support can be most helpful. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, respected, and heard—not judged or rushed. Together, we’ll begin developing a personalized path forward based on your needs, strengths, and goals.
