Great to meet you!

Hi my name is Denise, I'm glad you're here. I have over 10 years of experience helping patients create meaningful change by combining insight with practical, skills-based therapy. Together, we explore what has shaped your experiences and what is currently happening in your life, while identifying tools that can be practiced between sessions to support lasting progress.

I support patients in building healthy boundaries, communicating needs effectively, strengthening self-care, clarifying core values, and approaching personal growth with intention. Therapy with me is collaborative and structured, with a focus on applying skills in everyday life rather than only talking about challenges.

I have specialized training in working with chronic conditions, grief and loss, chronic pain, concerns related to aging, queer-identified concerns, faith transitions, political distress, life transitions, veterans’ issues, and trauma. Many of these concerns can be effectively addressed through telehealth. My approach integrates clinical training with lived experience, allowing me to offer practical guidance grounded in understanding and compassion.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin creating a space that feels safe, respectful, and collaborative. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important to focus on right now. You don’t need to have the “right” words or a clear plan—starting where you are is enough.

I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, what has shaped you, and what is currently happening in your life. Sessions are paced intentionally, and we move in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. You’re always welcome to share at your own comfort level.

Therapy with me is practical and skills-based, so you can expect to begin identifying tools that may be helpful between sessions. The goal is for you to leave with greater clarity and, when appropriate, strategies you can start using in everyday life. Together, we’ll also talk about next steps and whether continuing to work together feels like a good fit.
