Dr. Denise Houser

Are you tired of carrying things that are just too heavy for you to carry alone anymore? As a licensed professional counselor, I can help you carry that load. In my 12 years as a counselor, I've worked with families, children, adolescents, and adults of all ages in homes, outpatient offices, and online. I have a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision, and have taught in graduate counseling programs, but my first love is working directly with individuals who are dealing with the effects of trauma, grief, burnout, or anxiety. I am a Christian and would be happy to incorporate your spiritual beliefs, whether Christian or not, into our work together, if desired.

My style as a counselor is warm and accepting, although I will challenge you when needed! I am curious about what has happened to you in your life. I genuinely like my clients as they are, but I want to help them grow into the person they want to be.

Our first session will be spent getting to know one another. I will answer any questions you have about the counseling process and I will ask you to share what I need to know about you to serve you well. My goal is for you to leave the first session knowing that there is hope, even if you can't feel it yet!
