Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Denise M. Hunter-Mitchell, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

My therapeutic perspective begins and ends with grace. I entered this profession to support individuals as they reflect, create space for healing, and move toward lives shaped by purpose, balance, and meaning.

I believe healing occurs when people are met with compassion, patience, and the freedom to grow at their own pace.

My approach to therapy

My desire is to create a therapeutic space where you feel grounded, affirmed, and supported as you move from surviving to truly thriving. Therapy is a place to be heard, to better understand yourself, and to build the emotional resilience needed for meaningful change.

I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as we identify your goals and a path forward. As your therapist and thought partner, I will encourage you through life’s mountains and valleys. As a Somatic Experiencing therapist, I also offer space to slow down, notice how trauma affects the body and brain, and begin gently regulating the central nervous system.

What you can expect from me

As a therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment goals that are meaningful, personal, and aligned with what matters most to them.

This is where growth begins. Together, we create space for insight, healing, and possibility. Along the way, new skills are developed, old patterns of thinking are gently challenged, and clients begin to discover strength, clarity, and hope for the life they want to build.
