Great to meet you!

I have practiced in hospital, health, and clinical settings for over 30 years and have specialized in the areas of Conflict Mediation, Forensic, Substance Abuse, Early Intervention, and Trauma along the way. A Latin@ practitioner-researcher and writer dedicated to client-centered and evidence-based care. I am EMDR certified. As a Humanist (Rogers, Maslow) I endeavor to create and hold space where the change you envision may be safely explored.

My approach to therapy

Individual, couples, and family therapy's orientation is Rogerian, with the understanding that feeling safe and accepted from the moment of contact will determine whether you actually benefit from and stay in treatment. Cognitive-behavioral, psychoanalytic, and other evidenced-based techniques are employed in relation to who you are, what issues you wish to work on, and how best to help strengthen what's working and undo what doesn't.

What you can expect from me

By building rapport and trust we identify collaboratively our area of work and the tools, techniques, and practices that align with you and your current needs and environment. What you take away is as limitless as your own potential! I want you to be heard and seen while equipping you with a new insight or tool that is easy to apply. "Homework" runs the gamut and often includes journaling, artwork/crafting, bibliotherapy, practicing a new protocol, or just saying "no" without further elaboration.
