Great to meet you!

I’m Dennis Ly, a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) passionate about helping individuals achieve lasting emotional well-being. I specialize in the treatment and management of anxiety, depression, and ADHD, providing compassionate and evidence-based care that is tailored to each person’s needs.

With over eight years of nursing experience—including extensive work in emergency and acute care—I’ve supported patients through some of life’s most challenging moments. These experiences shaped my calm, empathetic, and collaborative approach to care.

My practice focuses on personalized treatment plans that often combine medication management with therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based strategies. I believe in treating the whole person—not just the symptoms—by addressing emotional, physical, and lifestyle factors that contribute to mental health.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward feeling better.

Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, traveling, and discovering new sushi and Korean BBQ restaurants across Southern California.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, holistic, and rooted in evidence-based practice. I believe the best outcomes come from working together to understand not just your symptoms, but also your goals, values, and daily experiences.

I focus on developing individualized treatment plans that combine medication management with therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based strategies. This balanced approach supports both emotional healing and long-term resilience.

I also emphasize education and open communication—helping you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and what to expect along the way. My goal is to create a safe, respectful environment where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to take an active role in your mental health journey

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my goal is to get to know you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. We’ll talk about what brings you to care, your current challenges, and your goals for treatment. I’ll review your medical and mental health history, current medications, and lifestyle factors to better understand the full picture of your wellbeing.

This session is conversational and collaborative. You can expect a safe, judgment-free environment where you’re encouraged to speak openly at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin developing a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, therapy, and lifestyle strategies tailored to your needs.

By the end of the visit, you’ll have a clearer understanding of your diagnosis, available treatment options, and next steps in your care. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about your path forward.
