I feel that we live in a complicated, anxious world. That’s challenging enough. Therefore, we need to be aware of our tendencies to create optional stress and adopt coping skills that have the capacity to increase our happiness.

My diverse life experience includes: veteran of twenty years of service in the U.S. Air Force; Fourteen years as a therapist working with clients who experience a wide-range of mental health challenges; have provided counseling services to Grand Junction Police Department; instruct martial arts as an extension of my practice; and former vice chair of the American Women’s Self-Defense Association.

I was taught from an early age how important it is to see the suffering of the world. All of us deal with emotional and/or physical pain at some level, and many experience both. This can make it difficult to be aware of the abilities we have within us to minimize our suffering. It has become my mission to assist others in finding some peace in a challenging and anxious world through uncovering those skills.

I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Couple’s Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My focus is to understand why we are at war with ourselves, how to mend our conflicts, and learning to allow our body and mind to work together as one.

The goal that I have for my clients is for them to increase the awareness of their thoughts and feelings without beating themselves up for having them. To realize that finding peace begins within the relationship that we have with ourselves, leading to better relationships with others.
