Great to meet you!

My name is Derek Jesko. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Master's of Arts Degree in Clinical Counseling & Marriage and Family Therapy. I currently specialize in Trauma-Exposure/PTSD, Depression, and Interpersonal problems primarily through the utilization of the following therapeutic frameworks and associated techniques: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Theory, and Psychodynamic Theory.

My approach to therapy

My treatment method involves the formation of a collaborative therapeutic alliance aimed at the continual development of personal insight, the end goal of which is the establishment of a more integrated and autonomous life. With inspiration from the works and insights of Dr. Carl Jung and Dr. Richard Schwartz, my method prioritizes a strong working relationship wherein previously unconscious processes, unresolved traumas, etc. are identified and healed through the light of conscious awareness.

What you can expect from me

From our first session, my aim is to help instill an open, inquisitive attitude toward life alongside a more compassionate and actualized sense of self. While knowledge is indeed power, the development of said knowledge starts with an honest question. It's in these these questions, and more importantly, their answers that your true potential lies. Let's see what we can discover together.

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." -C. G. Jung
