Great to meet you!

Are you feeling stagnated, overwhelmed, or just going through waves of emotions? You don't have to carry these burdens alone. Sometimes life can feel overwhelming when you are trying to manage difficult emotions, keep up with everyday responsibilities, or find healthier ways to cope with what you are experiencing. Anxiety may leave you caught in constant worry, depression can make it difficult to feel motivated or connected, and substance use may become a way of managing emotions that feel difficult to face. I work with adults and seniors experiencing substance use or addiction, anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. These concerns can also overlap with anger or PTSD, especially when past experiences and current challenges begin affecting your relationships, emotional wellbeing, and everyday life. With more than 13 years of experience, I understand that meaningful change takes time and that everyone's path toward healing looks different. Together, we can better understand what you are going through, recognize the strengths you already have, and develop healthier ways to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and stability.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both the person you are today and the experiences, relationships, responsibilities, and challenges that have shaped how you navigate life. We'll explore how substance use or addiction, anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma may be affecting your emotional wellbeing, relationships, and ability to feel more grounded in everyday life. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of responding, and Trauma Focused CBT to help you process difficult experiences while developing skills to manage the emotions and reactions connected to them. Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy can help you become more aware of difficult thoughts and feelings without automatically reacting to them, while Solution Focused Brief Therapy can help us identify your strengths and turn the changes you want to make into practical, manageable steps. I assist individuals with developing, emotional regulation and coping skills. My goal is to empower you in understanding how past experiences impact your current well-being, exercising resiliency for long term healing.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to come to therapy knowing exactly what to say or having everything figured out. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you here, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different in your life. Together, we will identify goals that reflect your needs and priorities while developing a plan that feels realistic and manageable. You can expect me to bring encouragement, understanding, and a solution-oriented approach to our work while creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable being honest about your experiences. I will meet you where you are while also challenging you when it may help you recognize patterns, consider new perspectives, or take meaningful steps forward. Progress may look like developing a healthier relationship with substances, feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, managing stress more effectively, or processing traumatic experiences so they have less influence over your present. We will continue checking in on what is helping, recognizing your progress, and adjusting our work as your needs evolve. When you are ready, you can schedule your first session with me through Headway.
