Great to meet you!

Embarking on a counseling journey can be a difficult first step. It can be intimidating to be vulnerable to some stranger through a screen as well as trusting the process in the beginning. I recognize the value of a strong therapeutic alliance as the foundation to any therapeutic relationship. It is something that is built through trust, transparency, and hard work. I am as new to you as you are to me so I know and respect that it takes time to build rapport and establish safety. With me, you can expect a clinician that can equally hold a safe space for you as well as challenge you in your patterns and behaviors. While the first steps can be hard, it gets less overwhelming when you have someone walking with you step by step.

My approach to therapy

I approach all therapy sessions with curiosity and openness. I do not stick to one "prescribed" modality as we are all different folks. Each session is shaped around you based on your preferences and what has worked in the past as well as what has not. Every session utilizes person centered and trauma informed approaches as I meet each client where they are as we collaborate to find what works best for you. You are the expert of yourself, I am just here to help you unlock it and give you the tools to reach your goals.

What you can expect from me

The initial session will be low pressure. I will ask the questions and you will simplify answer so that I can get to know you based on historical information. No deep dives, no spilling your deepest darkest secrets. Just two people building a foundation on factual information. You can expect the initial intake to take about an hour. Despite me asking the questions. you are still the expert of you. If there are any questions that you are not comfortable answering, you always have the right to decline as I respect your autonomy and comfort.
