Great to meet you!

Every person has intrinsic value, and nothing you can do removes that. It was placed there by God. Just as a gold dollar has value regardless of what has happened to it, so do you. Let's get busy helping you to live like you have that value! I use illustrations to help illustrate truths, and often help to find humor in the process. I have worked in jails and prisons, community mental health and the VA, and have helped gang members and Amish. At my core, I believe that healing comes from our Creator, and whether you share in my belief or not I will pray for you.

My approach to therapy

My view of wellness comes from Adler, and my style of therapy is mostly cognitive behavioral. Depending upon the definition of recovery you seek, I am trained in many evidence-based approaches of treatment. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression (CBT-D). treatments for nightmares, anxiety, and 2 protocols for PTSD (CPT and PEPC). Your definition of recovery will guide the options we have to consider, but we will decide the path together.

What you can expect from me

The initial session will create the path of recovery. If you have already given thought to what success looks like, it will be much easier, but sometimes that is not so simple. I will also give you an opportunity to ask relevant questions of me to verify that we can be effective together. Ideally, you will have a good estimate of how many visits are likely to be required, and what the process will involve.
