Hello and welcome. My name is Desha Jackson, and I am a licensed therapist dedicated to providing a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore their experiences, heal, and grow. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside clients to help them better understand themselves, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I bring a compassionate, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach to my work. I have experience supporting individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the effects of past trauma. I also support clients in developing healthy coping skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening boundaries, and enhancing overall well-being.
My clinical approach integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, and mindfulness-informed interventions. I strive to meet each client where they are and tailor treatment to their unique needs, values, and goals.
I earned my master's degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of Phoenix, and I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I provide high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive care. Above all, I am passionate about helping clients feel empowered, understood, and capable of creating the life they desire.
If you are considering therapy, I commend you for taking this important step. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I believe that every individual is the expert of their own lived experience, and I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and respected.
I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, and mindfulness-informed interventions to help clients increase insight, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthy coping skills, and build emotional regulation. I also incorporate psychoeducation and practical tools so clients can apply what they learn in therapy to their daily lives.
I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, values, and goals, and I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership. At times, I offer gentle challenge alongside compassion to support growth, accountability, and meaningful change. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, build resilience, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and supportive first session focused on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your concerns, goals, and what you hope to gain from counseling, while also reviewing important background information and answering any questions you may have. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported as we begin building a collaborative path forward.
