Great to meet you!

My name is Desirae Contreras, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I hold a Master of Science in Counseling, specializing in working with children, adolescents, and parents. In our first few sessions, you can expect a mix of structured conversation, emotional reflection, and some information-gathering. Our sessions will create a structured, safe, and nonjudgmental space that’s unlike everyday conversations. Through this work together, I am confident in helping you become the best version of yourself.

My approach to therapy

I use multiple approaches in therapy, including CBT, which

  • Focuses on identifying negative thought patterns (like assumptions or catastrophizing).
  • Teaches skills to reframe thinking and respond more constructively.
  • Often includes communication and problem-solving training.

What you can expect from me

When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate and supportive environment where your unique needs and goals are the focus. I believe in the power of therapy to foster growth and healing, and I am dedicated to helping you or your child find the path to a healthier, happier life.
