Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Desiree, a mental health therapist who is calm, nurturing, and compassionate. I have an MS in Counseling with an MFT emphasis and I have been practicing therapy since 2007. I specialize in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, and trauma. I am also interested in healthy peer and intimate relationships, co-dependency, LGBTQ+ community, and adoption related issues, to name a few.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is eclectic with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Identifying faulty core beliefs in particular while working to accurately shift them can benefit overall progress. Increasing positive coping, self care, and mindfulness are also essential in my work.

What you can expect from me

The highest priority is for you to feel a sense of emotional safety and ease as we begin our work together. To start, we will explore what you want and discuss how we can get you there. We will then set specific and tangible goals to set the direction of therapy and can review/adjust as often as needed. You will come away feeling heard and hopeful about making the changes you want.
