Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Desiree. I'm bilingual and speak both English and Spanish. As an LMHC, I especially enjoy working with people who may feel apprehensive about starting counseling, as well as those navigating substance use, addiction, depression, family issues, and trauma who are motivated to make changes in their lives and become the best version of themselves. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I was born and raised in New Jersey, and I love working with a diverse population.

My approach to therapy

I utilize a challenging, but empathetic and supportive approach. I practice from a collaborative, yet individualized approach, where we work together to help you achieve a better version of yourself. I am passionate about empowering clients to heal from trauma, learn effective coping skills, and facilitate healing and growth. I strive to facilitate an open and transparent environment where vulnerability is key. My goal is to facilitate healing and personal growth where clients feel safe to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to get to know who you are and what brought you to therapy. We will discuss your struggles, concerns, and relevant personal, mental health and family history as well as, goals for therapy. We will work collaboratively to identify your needs, desired outcomes and learn new coping skills. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to be vulnerable and to be your authentic self.
