Great to meet you!

About Me

Hi, I’m Devin V. Parker, MSN, APRN, CPNP, PMHNP-BC — a dual board-certified Pediatric and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with several years of experience caring for children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 22 years old.

I specialize in providing holistic, evidence-based care that supports both the mental and physical well-being of young people. My clinical experience includes diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric and developmental conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and mood dysregulation — always with an emphasis on personalized, compassionate care.

I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, school-based programs, and community health environments. I strongly believe in a collaborative approach, working closely with families, educators, and healthcare teams to create treatment plans that empower my patients and support their long-term success.

With a background in both pediatric and psychiatric care, I bring a unique perspective that allows me to understand the full picture of a child’s health — not just their symptoms. I'm committed to helping young people and their families navigate challenges with clarity, resilience, and hope.

My approach to therapy

I believe that every child and young adult deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood — and that effective care begins with a strong, trusting relationship. My approach is warm, collaborative, and family-centered, grounded in evidence-based practice and a deep respect for each client’s unique story.

I take the time to truly listen, understand your concerns, and partner with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that fits your child’s needs, strengths, and goals. Whether we're managing a new diagnosis or navigating ongoing challenges, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where healing and growth can happen.

I also offer developmentally sensitive care tailored to each stage — from early childhood through late adolescence and young adulthood — always keeping the whole person in mind.

Working with families is a key part of my practice. I know that when caregivers feel supported and empowered, it creates a stronger foundation for a child’s progress. Whether you're coming in for a consultation, ongoing care, or guidance during a tough time, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit is all about connection, comfort, and understanding. I know that starting therapy or psychiatric care — especially for children and teens — can feel overwhelming or uncertain, so I focus on creating a warm, non-judgmental space where both the child and their family feel heard and supported.

During our initial session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask about your child’s history, current concerns, daily routines, and any previous mental or physical health care experiences. We’ll also talk about what’s been working, what hasn’t, and what goals you’d like to work toward together.

Depending on the child’s age, I may speak with them individually, with the caregiver present, or alternate between both. This flexible approach allows me to build rapport while making sure everyone’s voice is included.

Goals of the first session typically include:

  • Building a comfortable, trusting relationship
  • Gaining a clear picture of your child’s strengths, challenges, and needs
  • Identifying your top concerns and goals for care
  • Outlining next steps, including any evaluations, follow-up appointments, or treatment options

By the end of our session, you’ll walk away with a better understanding of what’s going on, a plan for moving forward, and a partner in your child’s care. My priority is to make sure you feel informed, supported, and hopeful from the very beginning.
