Great to meet you!

Greetings! I am a board-certified psychiatrist, in practice for 20 years, that endeavors to address the whole person. Medication, while often necessary, is but one piece of the pie. I am dedicated to helping my clients put the diverse pieces of their puzzle together to unlock their potential to live a fulfilling and amazing life. I was a non-traditional student, so I bring a variety of life experiences to the table that allow me to relate to people from all walks of life and circumstances.

My approach to therapy

I emphasize focusing oh the whole person, using a bio-psycho-social approach to understand how all the pieces fit together. You are never just a diagnosis or defined by your symptoms. It is critical for me to see, understand and connect with the person that you are. Everything else flows from that. Sessions are never just about medication but rather the entire encounter should be therapeutic and that you leave, in some way, better than how you came.

What you can expect from me

Ideally, after each session, you should leave feeling heard, understood and validated. Too often we can feel like no one is really listening, even our doctors. With each session you should have an increasing understanding of how your mind, body and life circumstances each contribute to your presentation and strategies to address each of these domains. The process can be challenging, and at times frustrating, but put in the work and you will see progress. We can all get/be better!
