Great to meet you!

I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Louisville, followed by two years of in-depth training within the Veteran's Affairs Healthcare System to work with older adults and their families.

I've been a therapist for over 8 years, working in outpatient mental health, neuro rehab, primary care, nursing homes, and VA hospitals. The work I love the most is providing tools and education to ease symptoms and aid in self-awareness, so folks leave therapy living a life they find most meaningful.

My approach to therapy

I use an integrative approach to therapy, which means we will identify your goals, and I will pull the most helpful elements of evidence-based therapies to tailor a treatment plan that works for you. My goal as a therapist is to provide you with the support and tools to understand yourself and others in a way that best allows you to live the life you want to live. I often pull from mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy to craft a treatment plan personalized to your symptoms, preferences, and goals.

What you can expect from me

It can be intimidating to meet with a therapist for the first time! This is why I offer a free phone consultation, so we can briefly get to know each other in a lower-stakes way. In our first full session, I will introduce myself again and go over some nuts and bolts of what therapy with me looks like, leaving plenty of space for you to ask questions. I'll then ask you to share whatever you're comfortable disclosing about your current concerns, as well as some questions I ask everyone to make sure we don't miss anything major. Within our first few sessions, we will decide together on a treatment plan that fits your goals, being sure to move at a pace that feels good to you! If after a few sessions it seems like we aren't a great fit, I'll work to make sure you get connected to someone who can better meet your needs.
