Great to meet you!

My initial professional background was in the medical field as a hospital based counselor working with the diabetes team for 20 years. This included work with children, adolescents, and families. Working with the impact of chronic illnesses has been a continued focus of my years of practice. My education for licensing included a second degree focused on family systems therapy.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Whether I'm working with an individual, couple or family, I am curious as to the influences on people given their history, trauma, personality, relationship difficulty, and other influences on each individual. It always amazes me how complex as individuals we are and that sometimes gets magnified in our relationships. I view every client from a systems perspective i.e. the influences on you. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a primary approach.

What you can expect from our first session

I will want to understand what your goals are, and what you hope to achieve from our work together. I hope from session you will take away things to be processing and thinking about till our next session.
