Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Alexander, a Behavioral Psychologist (PsyD), and I have also completed graduate work in Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis. I have over 30 years of experience in the mental health field and have worked extensively with many diverse populations. I am an ally of and advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I am passionate about providing support for the life challenges individuals may face. I am also comfortable assisting individuals facing challenges presented by adjustment issues, depression, grief, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma (PTSD), personality disorders, eating disorders, dissociative disorders, body dysmorphia, and gender dysphoria (WPATH provider), as well as addressing lifelong challenges presented by conditions such as intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and other long-standing mental health concerns.

My approach to therapy

I primarily use research-based learning theories, along with cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help individuals modify their behavior and address most challenges. I'm skilled in several therapeutic tools and strategies, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Rational Emotive Therapy. I am also willing to utilize a faith-based Christian counseling approach to therapy upon request.

What you can expect from me

What I can offer you is a space where you don’t have to pretend, perform, or have things figured out ahead of time. A safe environment where we can slow things down to review and understand what’s been happening with you. Without judgment or pressure to “fix” yourself.
