I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy tailored to each individual. I generally work with women, those facing difficult decisions or transitions. The transitions tend to be help making a decision, new family roles, new jobs, losses and grieving. This may involve Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused work and sometimes education on topics such as women in the workforce, the grief process, etc.
First, I like to explore what issues are proving difficult for my clients. What have you tried? What worked and did not work? What new skills could be put in place? My goal is to always have the individuals I am working with feel more in control, emotionally regulated and empowered.
