Great to meet you!

For many of us, we are confronting increasing stress and troubling symptoms that our old ways of coping do not seem to benefit us anymore. You and I may be a good fit if you are someone who wants to learn how to better manage yourself by understanding how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact with the environment using Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), With over 30 years of working as a Clinical Psychologist in teaching hospitals/universities, I have used the CBT model with adults in all stages of their lives, with diverse mental health issues and goals.

My approach to therapy

My overall goal for a successful therapeutic experience includes providing a safe and trusting environment for you, getting to know how you are doing now which includes a thorough assessment of your history and current symptoms. CBT will teach you to reframe problem(s), allow you to set goals, and work toward solving them in and outside of therapy. This may sound too structured for you, but CBT has been found to be very effective and, as I have experienced, the process can be an eye-opener into how our minds work.

What you can expect from me

If you are reading this, you are already entering into the first stages of change, looking for someone to help clarify what is going on in your life so that you can make informed decisions about what to do next. Then, setting achievable goals while learning new skills should get you to a point where you can do this on your own. We call it “wise mind”.
