Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Diane. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their capacity for healing and growth.

My career began in substance use treatment, where I developed a deep understanding of addiction, recovery, resilience, and the human experience. For the past 11 years, I have focused on providing psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and couples facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and personal growth.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting, two effective trauma-processing approaches that help people heal emotional wounds. My work combines evidence-based practices with a compassionate, person-centered approach that honors each individual's strengths and goals.

As a Native woman and enrolled member of the Menominee Nation, I value the role of culture, identity, community, and connection in healing. My perspective is informed by both professional training and Indigenous ways of knowing that recognize the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, family, and the natural world.

Throughout my career, I have worked in residential and outpatient treatment, community mental health, crisis intervention, corrections, higher education, and behavioral health leadership. These experiences have reinforced the importance of meeting people where they are and tailoring treatment to their needs.

I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences without judgment. Whether you are working through trauma, navigating change, strengthening relationships, or seeking greater balance and well-being, my goal is to help you reconnect with your authentic self and move toward meaningful growth.

My approach to therapy

When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate, supportive, and personalized approach to healing. I believe true wellness involves more than just addressing symptoms—it involves nurturing the connection between mind, body, spirit, relationships, and the world around us.

My work is grounded in Existential and Experiential therapies, with a strong Gestalt-focused and somatic approach that encourages present-moment awareness, self-discovery, emotional integration, and authentic growth. I believe healing happens when we learn to listen not only to our thoughts and emotions, but also to the wisdom held within the body. By increasing awareness of physical sensations, nervous system responses, and emotional patterns, we can create lasting change and deeper healing.

Drawing from more than 20 years of clinical experience, I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Brainspotting, mindfulness, parts work, somatic healing techniques, and nervous system regulation practices. This allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs, goals, and life experiences.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing occurs through self-awareness, meaningful connection, and the courage to explore both the challenges and strengths within yourself. Together, we can create a safe space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you navigate life's transitions, heal from past wounds, build resilience, and reconnect with your authentic self.

My goal is to help you cultivate greater balance, empowerment, and well-being while discovering the inner wisdom and strengths that have been with you all along.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my primary goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We will spend time discussing your current concerns, personal history, strengths, goals, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether I am the right fit for your needs.

I understand that starting therapy can feel both exciting and intimidating. My intention is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. There is no pressure to tell your entire story in one session. We will move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.

Together, we will begin exploring the challenges you are facing, identify areas of focus, and discuss potential approaches to treatment. Because I take a holistic and individualized approach, I consider the connection between mind, body, emotions, relationships, culture, spirituality, and life experiences when developing a plan for healing and growth.

By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, initial goals for our work together, and a sense of how we can collaborate to support your healing, well-being, and personal growth.
