Great to meet you!

I have more than 30+ years of experience doing therapy. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient settings as well as family service agencies and private practice. My approach is client centered with a strong focus on solution oriented short term therapy. I am a direct communicator, but use humor often to help clarify issues and to create an intervention that is easy to remember and implement for my clients.

My approach to therapy

I have an interest in providing therapy and support for caregivers, clients with new medical challenges and families dealing with end of life issues as well as anyone going through life transitions. I have specialized in grief and loss as well as anxiety and depression. I am a direct communicator and have been able to " speak truth to power" so one of my subset of experiences is coaching executives/business owners who have lost their jobs/going through growing pains or transitions or emotionally challenging times.

What you can expect from me

I have often gotten feedback from new clients that the first session is surprising because of the amount of depth we can get into right away. The goal is to start the work as soon as possible alongside of getting a history and establishing rapport. I try to create a warm, casual and safe conversational environment and that allows the client to disclose issues on a faster pace. I also try to include some somatic exercises or homework that the client can apply right away in between our first few sessions. I am a great listener but I take the philosophy that we are both in session to work and will challenge as well as support you in meeting YOUR GOALS from the initial session.
