Great to meet you!

Navigating life’s most difficult transitions requires a steady hand and a compassionate heart. Since earning my Master’s in Social Work from Fresno State in 1992, I have spent over two decades helping people find their footing during their most vulnerable moments. My background is extensive and varied, spanning from acute psychiatric hospitals to the gentle care of hospice and home health. This deep well of experience allows me to support a wide range of people, including children, seniors, and trauma survivors. I feel privileged to help my clients achieve their goals and improve their lives by providing the seasoned perspective that only twenty plus years in the field can bring.

I believe that my role is to walk alongside you, whether you are managing a chronic mental health condition or navigating the complexities of a developmental disability. I strive to be a relatable and grounded presence in your life, drawing on my years of service to ensure you feel understood. When I am not working with clients, I enjoy spending my time restoring vintage furniture, a hobby that mirrors my professional belief in the beauty of transformation. I want my clients to feel safe and empowered during their time with me as we work toward a future that feels bright and manageable.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic and transformative, designed to look at your entire life rather than just a list of symptoms. I don't believe in a rigid, one size fits all method. Instead, I pull from various practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to create a plan that fits your specific needs. By remaining trauma informed in everything I do, I ensure that our work honors your past while focusing on the practical steps needed for your future. I hope that my clients will be able to positively grow while working together, moving toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

We will focus on real world outcomes that help you regain a sense of control and peace. My goal is to provide you with the tools to navigate emotional hurdles with confidence and resilience. Clients should expect to feel heard and supported throughout our time together, as we collaborate on strategies that promote lasting healing and personal strength.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a low pressure space where we can begin to build a foundation of trust. I prioritize a client centered environment, meaning our initial conversation is focused entirely on your comfort and your story. We will spend time reviewing how therapy works and setting clear expectations so you feel fully informed about the process. I see myself as a facilitator, providing the professional guidance you need while you remain the expert on your own life.

Setting the groundwork for a strong rapport is my main priority during our first meeting. You can expect a session that feels safe and structured, where you are encouraged to be an active participant in your healing journey. By the end of our time together, my hope is that you feel a sense of relief and a clear understanding of how we will move forward toward your goals.
