Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Diane Valente, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. I’m so glad you’re here! Taking the step to explore therapy is a powerful act of self-care. Since earning my Master of Social Work from Adelphi University, I’ve worked with people of all ages in various clinical settings. I’m committed to providing a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for everyone, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, centered on your unique experience. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. With a trauma-informed lens, I help you better understand and heal from past experiences. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, or trauma, I believe therapy should empower you to feel in control of your own healing process.

What you can expect from me

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, so I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. Our first session will be a chance to get to know each other and explore your therapy goals. We’ll identify the stressors impacting your life and build on your natural coping skills. You deserve to feel in control of your healing, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
