Great to meet you!

Congratulations on taking steps toward self-care! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and passionate about supporting others in personal growth, healing and overall improving mental health. I first became interested in psychology and counseling in high school. After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of North Texas and Master's degree in counseling from Sam Houston State University, I joined the field as a licensed professional counselor. I am incredibly grateful for this being my career over the past 13 years. I have experience in community mental health, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, leadership, assessments and research, as well as other areas in between. I am no stranger to therapy and reaching out for help and I am passionate about supporting others in doing the same. I am a big believer in healing from our past experiences and being able to forgive ourselves and others. As your therapist, I can help guide and support you through processing difficult experiences and emotions and working toward personal growth and reaching your goals. I can assist you in building up your emotional muscles and learning and implementing tools for self care and improving your emotional intelligence. I am so appreciative of every individual that shares their views and experiences and I look forward to continuing to grow in my career and help others along the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach is to first create a therapeutic alliance with trust and acceptance. Each individual is different so our work together will be based on your needs, considering your past, present and goals for the future. This could include changing unhealthy thinking patterns, learning stress management techniques, processing past life experiences and finding ways to grow that are meaningful and realistic for you.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I like to get a glimpse into who you are as a person and what your perspectives and environment might be like. I will encourage you to share what you are comfortable with but I will also ask questions to assist with setting a framework for what we may work on in the future and what will promote your success and personal growth.
