Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm Dr. Diedre Wade, and I'm honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward greater wellness and resilience.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor in Kentucky, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore challenges related to anxiety, OCD, binge eating, body image, perfectionism, self-esteem, and overall well-being.

I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and teach future counselors how to provide ethical, evidence-based care. I also earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and have more than 14 years of experience in private practice, inpatient behavioral health, residential treatment, Drug Court, and correctional mental health.

I specialize in treating anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), and body image concerns. I understand many of the challenges any of these bring. Combined with my specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), I provide evidence-based care with both professional expertise and personal understanding. ERP is also highly effective for many individuals experiencing generalized anxiety.

I have received specialized training in the treatment of Binge Eating Disorder and help clients develop a healthier relationship with food, improve body image, reduce emotional eating, and move beyond binge eating without relying on shame or restrictive dieting.

As a former competitive bodybuilder, I understand how performance and appearance pressures can contribute to perfectionism, anxiety, disordered eating, and body image concerns. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts or striving to find greater balance, my goal is to help you build practical skills, strengthen resilience, and create lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My greatest strengths as a counselor include being a good listener, being warm and friendly, asking lots of questions to get us to where we need to be to figure out the best next steps for achieving your goals. With my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, I've had plenty of time to learn skills/techniques that will help with a variety of concerns you bring to counseling. I also love encouraging and praising my clients!

What you can expect from me

The first session will be a "get to know" you time. We'll go through your intake paperwork, discuss your goals, and how I can best serve you in counseling. Before the end of this first session, we'll come up with some action steps, so you don't have to wait until session two to get to work! I believe counseling should be a collaborative effort. You're the expert on your own life. I get to walk alongside you to help you achieve your goals.
