Great to meet you!

I am a first-generation Mexican-American who grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago. I’m a clinical social worker and I have experience working with youth, young adults, and couples. I practice from a person-first, holistic, and strengths-based approach. In sessions, I emphasize the importance of finding a balance between self-compassion and healthy challenge. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing, playing an adaptive sport known as goalball, and traveling.

My approach to therapy

I provide a safe and comfortable space where your authentic self is always welcomed, and just like you, I will bring my authentic self so you can expect storytelling and laughter. I believe it is important to have self-compassion. That rather than judging, criticizing, or shaming yourself when you make a mistake or fall off your path of change, you meet it with a level of self-compassion. Recognizing that you have the ability and resiliency to get back on the positive path that will lead you to the best version of yourself. I believe healing is possible through different means and am open to incorporating creativity in our sessions. Yes, we can use CBT, some solution-focused therapy, some shadow work or just talk it out. And yes, we can also use music, a book, or a poem in your journey, as long as it is something you feel comfortable exploring and most importantly that it works for you.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to help you have a better understanding of your mental health, to feel more in control of your life, happier, and always closer to the best version of yourself.
