Great to meet you!

I am a seasoned Psychotherapist and Clinical Doctor of Social Work, with over 20 years of experience, I am dedicated to serving the mental health needs of underserved, marginalized and affluent communities in New York City. Promoting social justice and empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives. I am a proud mixed heritage, native New Yorker and former U.S. Army combat Soldier. My educational background includes degrees from esteemed institutions, including New York University, Adelphi University, and Long Island University, I brings a profound depth of knowledge and expertise to the mental health and addictions field.

My approach to therapy

In my psychotherapy practice, I embrace a humanistic approach centered on the belief in each individual's inherent potential for growth and change. I empower clients by fostering a safe and compassionate environment, allowing them to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. By integrating modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma focused therapy and motivational interviewing, I create tailored strategies that meet each client’s unique needs. I place a strong emphasis on trauma-informed care, recognizing that past experiences profoundly shape present realities. This understanding guides our work together, fostering resilience and hope as clients navigate their journeys. My highlights the importance of connection and support in the healing process. Through solution-focused care, I guide individuals towards practical steps for self-discovery and empowerment. My goal is to help clients embrace their strengths, confront challenges, and evolve into the best versions of themselves. With a commitment to compassion and understanding, I aim to facilitate personal growth, enriching not only their lives but also the lives of their families and communities.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session to be an open and welcoming experience, where we will discuss their goals for therapy and any immediate concerns they may have. I prioritize establishing a trusting relationship, and I will invite them to share their story at their own pace. Together, we will outline their therapeutic journey, identifying areas they wish to explore and work on.
